Luna amicaeA Poem by AristophanesAt night, the moon seems to be our only witness of the darkest desires
Luna amicae
I want to venture once more into The verdant fields of your abdomen At the high dark hora, luna amicae I'll venerate your vernal nudity OH! I want to commit a venial sin Once more, and cover my obscure Verses with your vellum of honey odor Cleave, from your visage, the obscuring Veil that hides the nacre, where I was born, Once. Is this amour of mine, for you, in vain? Oh! That verdure of your eyes, I apprehend By heart, could your love have a terminus? Oh! This turbulence has a turpentine savor. Turpitude nadir at the high dark hora! Oh! How do I want to observe your nudity! Except, all I seem to accomplish is obstinate The exquisitely charming tranquility of you This obstruction obviates my intentions to Demonstrate, that I have been smitten by The magnificently delightful stroke of your sex. © 2008 AristophanesReviews
