Lost, Eternally

Lost, Eternally

A Poem by Aristophanes
"

A poem about being lost in the center emotion

"
Lost, Eternally

A pervasive apprehension
Perturbed the horizon,
Out of my control
And I don't understand this
Mutation you have gone through

Nobody said "it would be easy"
Just let me look at those brown eyes
I need your help, these last days have
Been up hill

Unable to move, my will to transcend
I can only see your face in my mind
Your smile, and that funny shape your
Lips make when you smile, it has me lore

A pervasive apprehension
Perturbed the horizon,
Out of my control
I'm lost in this forest of denial
How could I have let you go?
Without one last kiss to recall
And I don't understand this
Mutation my heart know all too well

I believe that the sad emotions expressed were triggered by change. A change caused by the parting. Someone, a flame perhaps, whose beauty he could very well remember, may have left him while he was still trying to hold on. Well, I'm not very certain about that but it feels like that's how it goes, methinks. Thus, being so, it led him to the stage of denial. I like the first three lines and its repetition in the last stanza. They give emphasis to the thought of this piece. It makes me think that his mind was clouded by such powerful emotions that he could not think well. Hence, he felt so lost.

This has a soft flow but is packed with strong emotions. The imagery is great. Well-penned!

It's been awhile, if ever, I have seen heartache portrayed so beautifully.
