A Poem by Aristophanes

XI

Lassie

Lassitude

Languid

Suffered

As a spring

That has not

Yet arrived

Lassie

Worried

Vexed

Whirled

An emotional

Twirl

Thy bed infernal

Sentimental affair

Acrimonious dessert

Of thy verdant desire

Lethargized

Convulsed

Languor

Thou art deserted

In thy scabrous berth

Perplexed

Vexed

Complex

Thou art mystified

As a withered

Orchid

Beautiful imagery in this one. This piece reminds me a little of the old "ode" style poetry, which I quite enjoyed while studying in college. There is both a modernity and an old world feel to this, which is quite lovely. I love the alliteration and the playing on words. Quite well done.
