The Definition Of PerfectionA Poem by Arion_HartShe wants to hurt herself, to destroy who she is. Who she sees when she looks in the mirror. She wants too be done with her life; her pitiful life. A life she lives in solitude. She wants too be loved as well; not by her parents or friends. She wants to be loved by him. She wants to stop being fat; because that's how she feels. Unattractive and fat. But those are just the insane dreams of a mummified teen Who has wrapped herself in self-hatred and loath. Because she sees herself as fat and ugly. She compares herself too those girls with bikini figures and natural beauty, who walk with class and sass. And so she doesn't eat, instead she cakes her face with make-up. And yet she finds herself crying in defeat. Mascara that stains her cheeks leaving black streaks, like the ones in her soul. Tears that fall helplessly onto the pillowcase along with her self-esteem. But slowly, one thread at a time, she begins to unwrap her self. She begins to love herself. Because she is unique and there can never be another person like her. And she may not be what society deams "perfect" she may be average and plain. But in her eyes, eyes that she has finally opened, she is wonderful no matter who she is or how she looks. And in his eyes, she is the definition of Perfection. © 2016 Arion_HartReviews
