What is LGBT?A Screenplay by AriesA script for an informative video on LGBT terminology.A script for a possible YouTube video. Person 1: Hiiiii! *waves* I'm (name). I'm super glad I get to do this! Person 2: And i'm (name). We get to talk about LGBT stuff today! *cheers* Person 1: Soooo... what exactly is LGBT? Person 2: Acronym. It's an acronym. Person 1: Thanks... Person 2: It stands for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender, the big 4 Person 1: But it can also apply to a bunch of other things Person 2: Demisexuality! Person 1: Asexuality! Person 2: Genderfluidity! Person 1: Non-binary! Person 2: Pansexuality! There's a TON of different things that fit under the umbrella term "LGBT" and those were just a few. You can also use the word 'queer' and it means the same thing. Person 1: The first two letters, L and G, lesbian and gay are probably the easiest to explain. They're the terms used for females and males respectively that represent homosexuality. Person 2: Homosexuality is the technical word that having means sexual attraction to someone of the same gender. If a guy likes or desires a relationship with a guy, he is gay. If a girl likes another girl, she is a lesbian. Person 1: Common misconception: calling a guy gay is not inferring that he is less manly or macho, it's a stupid and ignorant way to insult someone. And how is being "gay" a freakin' insult? Person 2: It's not. Some people take it as a compliment actually. Person 1: Anyways... let's move on to the B, Bisexuality. Person 2: This is the one that a lot of people don't think exists. You're either straight or gay, right? No inbetween. That's wrong. Person 1: There's a post on Tumblr I once read that explains it perfectly. Bisexuality is like the color purple. It's a blend of red and blue. Red is liking girls and blue is liking guys. Even though it's a mix of both, purple is still recognized as it's own color. And sometimes purple can be more red or more blue but it's still purple. Person 2: That about sums it up. And last but not least is T, Transgender. Person 1: Being transgender these days is hella controversial. Virtually all transgender people have had to deal with prejudice in some way, shape or form. Because often a lot of other 'normal' or cisgender people *mutters* filthy muggles... are a******s. Person 2: Being transgender is when a person identifies and views themselves as a different gender than how they were born. A girl who sees themself as a guy and vice versa. They may feel as though they are a man or woman trapped in the opposite gender's body. Person 1: There are different degrees of it. Sometimes, they're only a girl or a guy to themselves and remain 'closeted' while others have done a complete 180 and are recognizable to all as either a girl or a guy. Person 2: And no, being a drag queen is NOT the same as being transgender. Person 1: As previously mentioned, there are a metric crapton of things that fall under the LGBTQ category. Waaaay too many things to mention in one video. Person 2: The nice thing about the majority of the LGBT community is how tight knit and accepting it can be. Person 1: We don't give a crap who you are, male, female, gay, straight, black, white. It doesn't matter. Some of us probably wouldn't care if you were sexually attracted to tables. Person 2: Fun history fact, back in the early 20th century or whenever it was when seeing a woman's leg past the ankles was considered 's****y', people had to place long tablecloths over their tables to keep men from being aroused by the table's legs. Person 1: Yes people, legs were that much of a turn on back then. Person 2: As previously stated, we don't care about your skin tone or ethnicity or whatever. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Person 1: Love and tolerate as the Bronies say. Person 2: That's about all we have to say for now. Hopefully, this video was helpful to you. And hopefully we cut down on a little bit of ignorance on the internet. Person 1: Exactly! Stupid people be stupid no more! *waves arms dramatically* Person 2: Peace out! © 2015 Aries |
