Merlot

Merlot

A Poem by Aries1984
"

This poem is about bitter red dry wine

"

I once used to love dry, bitter, red wine
But now I don't anymore
It used to treat me o soo fine!
But now I'm no longer a fan of you Merlot.

You used to treat me so so good
After a few glasses I'd hit the floor
But now you're all spicy and taste like dry wood
I no longer love you Merlot!

What happened to your bitter dry tenderness?
I used to crave you more and more!
But now your intoxication is effortless
I hate you, HATE YOU Merlot!

You used to take me to the wine fields of France
You provided my imagination with marvelous lore
I used to love your red bitter dry trance
I USED TO LOVE YOU MERLOT!

Why can't you be like a Sauvignon
But taste like you did before?
When your bitter dryness was quite an icon
You're not what you once were Merlot!

Never will I allow myself to drink your bitter, blood red brine
I will NEVER spend money on you anymore!
I renounce that I ever called you a true red wine
I renounce you now Merlot!
