Parched Dead Love

Although written from a woman's perspective, this poem is dedicated to ALL who have been hurt and deprived of love by the one they loved the most.

Parched are her lips which lack your kiss
Dry is her skin which longs for your touch
Gone are the days that were full of bliss
Of an intimate love missed so much.

Dead lie the feelings inside her heart no longer beating
Lifeless she lies in her final position
Frozen by time she longs for your heating
For you are her only great physician.

She longs for this love to reawaken
But do you see her tears?
She longs to have what you have taken
Her innocence she kept to share with you for many years.

Empty darkness in her eyes reveal a passion-starved soul
Of promises which have been broken
She thought you'd make her complete and whole
Yet you killed her with words you've spoken.

There are no tears for her left to cry
For her heart is completely all cried out
Of a love that's completely gone dry
You left her in a state of drought.

Yet there is still hope to revive her soul
You really just need to take some time to see
That she also holds the key to make you whole
And she is the one who can set you free,

Of the pain which haunted you
Which made you the beast you became
If you allow her she can renew
This love and passion strength will regain.

The rose of love can bud once again
If you'd just show her that you care
That you can change and be the man
She once dreamed of, a love so rare.

For a rose that's been hurt, dies
If it's not cared for and watered
And it's the same with love, it just dries,
To death after it's feelings been shattered.
