The Land of Dreams

 

Everyone in their hearts wants to become rich and famous,
Or so it seems
So those with raw talent
Head to the land of dreams.

They compete against each other
Auditioning for different acting themes
Because that's just how it is
In the land of dreams.

Some get discovered while others have to fight
To make it onto the big and small screens
The competition is not always pretty
In the land of dreams.

So if you're talented
Why not go to that place which teems
Of fame and fortune which can only be found
In the land of dreams.

Some get it handed to them
Some have to go to extremes
To prove that their talent is worth it
In the land of dreams.

This place also has a dark side
A side that's full of screams
Criticism, addiction, broken relationships all happen
In the land of dreams.

So if you're serious about your talents
Go ahead, plan your singing or acting schemes
But be careful not to get lost
In the land of dreams.

For it is easy to lose yourself
In this land's fame running streams
You're in the front lines of temptation
In the land of dreams.

Yet there can be, and is a positive side to fame
Think about your talent's impact by all means!
Think of  the role models you look up to living
In the land of dreams.

The positive impact the famous can and do have
Is the light that beams
Of the real stuff that makes legends
In the land of dreams.

For celebrities are not only remembered
For those famous movie scenes
Or how they made it big
In the land of dreams.

Their charitable work
Far out gleams
Their talents, songs sung or movies filmed
In the land of dreams.

Everyone in their hearts wants to be rich and famous...
Or so it seems
So if you're talented, what's you're reason for
Heading to the land of dreams?

the line between dreams and reality is a tricky one to draw

The American Dream was built on the very thing which this poem alludes to

but it's one of the greatest deception in history...

I'm honored that you have taken the time to base something on one of my work's

Your interpretation of my world is interesting
and from it has spawned a genius work of your own

This is a noteworthy literary effort

I'm glad you like it. I like the saying, "With great power comes great responsibility". A lot of people just want to be rich and famous only for the money. But when you can use your fame and money to make the world a better place, that right there is what I think matters the most and what people are really remembered for.

if I ever became famous, that's the kind of person I would want to be

though its easy to become pulled into the world of vanity your poem talks about
something that in the end, is but a dream world...

Exactly! I looked at some of their other stuff and I gotta be careful not to get my head filled up with too many ideas lol.
