The Heart That Bleeds

This is about the pain that every heart endures, but also it's strength to overcome it.

How long has it ached for it's dearly beloved
How long has it been since it was whole
How long has it been since it felt contempt
It bleeds for it's beloved's soul.

How long has it been since it felt the warmth of companionship
How long has it been since it yearned
To be deeply loved
But wound up getting repeatedly burned.

How long has it been bleeding while beating
With the rhythm of optimism
That one day it'll find wholeness again
After life's catastrophic collision.

Maybe if the world knew your fragility
Your most desired needs
For the heart that cares, desires, hurts and hungers for love
Is the heart that bleeds.

A great delicate poem! It's strange how when you have your heart broken that it can feel so physical, for me I had this constantly sinking feeling in my chest like my heart was slowly falling down.
Indeed, a heart that bleeds needs the most love of all, I hope it gets what it needs. Great write :)
