True Love's KissA Poem by Aries1984What do YOU think it means? We like to look at it directly
We like to see it for what it is A pretty picture of everlasting love, like from above But do we view this allegory correctly? Or is there something to it that we all miss? Could it mean a place of darkness A place that's similar to death? A place we've all seen before, where redemption can restore And break a heart's hardness Wake up and take life's first breath. In fairy tales there's a princess in a sleep-like death And a prince fighting evil to win her true love A symbol that's not always sexual, but still perpetual That after the kiss, she awakes, takes her first breath And from her grave rises like a dove. Guess what? So can a woman who has been scorned So can a parent who buried their child A child who buried their parents, living in life's darkest moments So can a man who has mourned A love from which left him beguiled. So can a child who has been abused A friend who's heart has been burned True loves kiss, does not miss Those who were wrongly accused And spent time in jail they never earned. You can wake up from your sleep-like death If only you'd let faith be your eyes Your Prince of peace is here, my dear He has defeated the ultimate threat Your true loves kiss has come! He say's, "ARISE!" Arise from your ashes, leave them be Embrace this brand new chapter Your heart's been cleaned, your soul's redeemed Your life is set free Go meet your happily ever after. © 2015 Aries1984Reviews
