Despair

Just my thoughts about how I really see and feel about world events such as those taking place in the Middle East and in my own native Eastern Europe, where there's, loss of life and suffering.

Despair
When hope disappears into thin air
When the world knows but doesn't care
When it turns a denying eye to what's happening there
Where evil defines what is fair.
Despair
Where injustice deprives dignity
Where indifference, on life, shed's no empathy
Where dishonesty reigns over integrity
And despotism glorifies over the lack of sympathy.
Despair
It's a word nobody likes to hear
It's a person who is deprived of happiness and cheer
It's a cry for help which is often greeted with a deaf ear
It's a hopelessness which far surpasses fear.
Despair
It's when a mother can't feed her child
It's when a woman's body has been defiled
It's when the hearts of men have been beguiled
And where God's creation is reviled.
Despair
Its a place where disregard resides
Where degradation of life presides
Where ignorance and intolerance divides
Where disparity coincides.
Despair
Laughs when it's victims feel defeated
Glorifies when children are mistreated
Smiles when hope, from life, is all depleted
Takes pleasure every time torture is repeated.
Despair
When all of your hopes disappear into thin air
Where evil defines what's fair
And the world knows but doesn't care
That! My friends, is the meaning of despair.

I hope that everyone enjoys what they read here and feel free to comment. I haven't been on here in a very long time but just recently started up writing again. I hope that the ideas keep coming for a very long time for me so I can be more active here.
