Memory

A Poem by Ariel Olivia
"

Childhood.

"
If you could, would you have skipped childhood?
Went on to later days and set out into a reality...
a reality unworthy of a working soul
Childhood... mystery, magic, set in a place of disbelief
Where everything is simplistic, the smallest thing was appreciated
Reality, hopelessness...
Working hard on something that sends you in circles
Nothing is perfect, everything needs fixing
Souls tend to be misleading, messes need cleaning
Misunderstandings need explaining
Childhood, you ignore the misleading
Making the mess and leaving it for later
Misunderstandings... they are a dream left behind in twilight
Reality, losing someone you love
Finding the right time to mention a horrible action
Anxiety knowing you're running late and nothing is going right
Creating a bad situation that only leads to a fight
Childhood, you spend so much time with everyone you love
Losing them doesn't even cross your mind not even in the distant future
They live on forever and ever
Horrible situations don't exist...
"if you don't have anything nice to say" is still an abiding rule
Worthless, fighting was over silly things like the last bit of ice cream
You're never running late, you have all the time in the world...
I repeat...
If you could, would you have skipped childhood?
