YouthA Poem by Ariel Olivia
When the wind feels young
And you feel as if you're free again The ozone layer is closing in Hard to say where you stand again Hard to see what you've become Within age and time things will never be the same The cigarette smoke from your guardians mouth Is now your cancer going in and out Things that you can't remember Are now memories that linger Those three words your high school sweetheart said Are now dying in a car crash outside of the city limits You feel the same but things are different Never to be said again friendships turn into remorse Ride the days that seem to be forced Never again will it be the same Never again will the wind feel young Never again will you have to feel the remorse you felt that night That night you felt alive. © 2012 Ariel OliviaReviews
