Ending the DayA Poem by Ariel OliviaLate afternoon.
It's pinkish-purple
The dark covers only in the right places A comfortable silence, rips through the town No one is out, no company to look forward to Solitary, hopeless bliss So much to say, but no one is talking The thrill of the day is melting away The smell of sweet grass The feel of the breeze The leaves move slowly, so delicate The ending of the day... depressing as it is It's a relief, almost a slight sense of hope For the days to come. © 2012 Ariel Olivia |
