Forsaken

Forsaken

A Poem by Ariel Nicole

I stood behind the tree and waited

Thinking about why my life had faded.

I saw you as you laid on the ground.

From your lips came a word, a sound.

A whisper but I still would hear it.

And soon I would come to fear it.

As emotions rushed through my mind.

You whispered words, you never could find.

Did you hear me that night?

The night you lost the fight?

I tried to figure you out

And now I know what you are about.

I look at you with tears in my eyes.

It made me think about all the lies.

The want of a new life left you broken.

Thinking of words left unspoken.

I held your hand, not knowing what to do.

So I closed my eyes and said to you.

I saw you that night

the night i lost my light.

But there was nothing to see

Because neither of us are free

Although you have no clue

there was nothing I could do.

Now I need away from this lie.

And now I must say good bye.

But I love you and you are not forsaken.

And it's time for us to go, if I'm not mistaken.
