thither and yon

thither and yon

A Poem by ArielMicheline

dilate and draw breath

i can see my reflection in your

finger-tips

warm full lips and brilliant blue eyes

i cast the shadow that follows me

thither across the pond

further than yon

i want more than this burgeoning love

to whither

whether or not we are

meant for so long

she cups my face quietly

and i smile so silently

pacing back and forth my unspoken retort

between my heart and my head

battling feelings of dread

can you hear the rattle and hum

in my chest

the pounding gun salute to your touch

so blessed
