whip-smart

whip-smart

A Poem by ArielMicheline

scratching scratching... furtively

keening and dreaming

what was it i was waiting for?

my insecurity overpowers me

in the presence of your company

denial of trial - by fire

waking with the thought of your body

warm and breathless

desire and wetness

i was witness to real love once but..

she was such a brilliant liar

do your hands hold secrets the way i remember

fall leaves colors changing

december

pale fingers twitching im switching

gears holding

pinking shears to my loathing

and uncovering the shell-shocked girl

who dwells within
