its nine am somewhere

its nine am somewhere

A Poem by ArielMicheline

whiskey and coke at nine in the morning
i have been taken down a notch again
alcohol mixes with guilt
mixes with my unwillingness to accept my
loneliness mixes with
the gray of the rain clouds over
head the water greasy in my liquor
glass shattered from trembling hands
i am hungover with the thought
of your mouth so close to mine
when did i reduce myself to a self
loathing pile of non chalance
easy answer
the day she left...
