A Fever Unbroken

This is my definition of loneliness and how people isolate themselves when they should try and make a difference in the world. Also how you are never lonely wrapped in God's arms.

In a box that nobody sees.

Hands covering my face and arms around knees.

Find me inside here, you will not.

I will stay in here, all chances are shot.

In a cold place, no ground no trees.

Find me a path or my breathing will cease.

Keep looking up, no hand held out to me.

Dreaming of a better place, a safer place to be.

Never finding God, all my life has no meaning.

Just sitting there, no passion, the only sounds are screaming.

Isolation can bring about such desolation as this, but it can also be a blessing, for to make those differences they can people need to find their strength. some find it through total isolation. It has a meditative feel. But, as your poem illustrates, remaining there is dangerous. I almost fell into that trap. I'm glad I didn't, and reading this poem makes me more happy for it.

This is really powerful, and describes the feeling of depression and isolation very vividly and correctly.

I think this is a great write. This is one of those few writings that not just convey the pain and anguish that a person suffering from loneliness goes through but it also makes the reader think in the direction of what action must be taken to get over this distressing state.
