An Uncertain Future

I'm stuck at a cross roads in my heart. I try to be there, to show I care. To fix what I did wrong. But I get pushed away, and I don't know how to say that sometimes it tears me apart. Our hearts have been entwined for a while now, and in that time, silence has never descended upon us. Now, that may become an option, it may become an object that plays its song upon the strings of my soul. How do we get past this path we have found ourselves on? Will the product of our time together, survive the war it has stumbled upon? Will the future be like what we once sought, or will the darkness of the monster we battle engulf it? In ten years time, will we smile at our offspring, playing in the grass, or will I be a distant memory in your vault? Will I wake up to your warmth, feel the gentle creases in your skin that only time creates, or will I wake up alone? Do you intend to love me, forever, like you promised? Or do you intend to break my heart?
