Big Surprise

Big Surprise

A Poem by ♥ Ari Skye ♥

How much of a fool

was I?

I opened my heart,

you broke it.

Not a big surprise.

I won't allow it anymore.

I'll shut off the faucet

of emotions.

Will no longer allow

the stream of love,

to flow.

You can take every broken promise

and stick it.

I'm not worth your conquest.

Not worth loving.

That's ok.

I don't need to be.

True love is a cliche.

A dream.

How stupid a girl I can be.

I opened my heart,

and you shatter it and my dreams.

Not a big surprise.

Once bitten twice shy..love is a tricky thing and not much fun when you end up with. Heartbreak and pain when someone toys with the other's affection...very well expressed poem here.

Thank you Fran
Love has a way of leaving us vulnerable and open to pain and heart break.
I used to believe, it was a weakness. The irony is, when you put your heart on the line, to give to someone to keep or break, it shows great strength. Stay strong. Sometimes true love has a way of finding us when we least expect it.
