I hate these kind of retards. The idiots who don't treat their soulmates like the breath of their life. Moreover, you said it well: We should rely only on ourselves, for if we were to become overly dependent on another person's love, it leaves u hapless, bitter, dejected. I really liked the retards in tin foil part, Ashley!

Reality never fails to strike and tear away our dreams and fairy tails. I've seen friends of mine throw everything away for one person. They threw away their friendships and who they themselves used to be all for that one person. Then it didn't work out and they're forced to start from nothing again. The let down is unforgiving. Once again you captured this type of situation and emotion perfectly my friend.

I understand that some Fairy Tales have "deeper" meanings, but to me what's the downfall, is society's gullablity (I think I spelled that right.. Lol) I was once that type of person. I would throw everything away for someone, and at one time, did. But I learned the very hard way, and that's what I was trying to share here. Thank you for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed!
'retards in tin foil.' That made me smile, really true, fairy tales can be good but you shouldn't go around believing them and expecting Prince Charming to be waiting to make things better at the end of a bad day.

Let's not forget that fairy tales have other important messages and that while they may describe somewhat unattainable scenarios they also teach us to never give up, to hope and that sometimes the little people can win a little in life. Cinderella breaks the hold of her stepmother and stepsisters and, Snow White steals her life back from the witch who poisoned her, the wolf wasn't able to complete his plan in the "Three Little Pigs", and kids learn to have faith in "Peter Pan" who also, by the way, sticks it to Hook. And then there is the whole Santa and Easter Bunny fiascos which really don't destroy us when we find out that they are not real because we see the higher purpose of these made-up entities.
All that being said, I believe you achieved your goal nicely and have written this perfectly.

The point I was trying to get across is that some of us, throw everything away oon the belief of these fairy tales. I was once like that. After time, and a lot of heartache, I learned there is no porince to take me away. There never was. This piece was me, trying to reflect what I had learned.
Thanks for the review!!

this is an amazing poem that i doubt i have the words to describe it well enough. i agree with this poem. fairytales are an escape from reality and that seems to help but in truth it blinds you. good job, i wish i could write poems like you.

I just believe that Fairy Tales are bad for little girls. They lead us to believe there is a perfect guy out there, searching for us, and many of us get our hearts broken...
So I decided to put how I felt about it, into words. TADA!!
