Skeletal Me

Skeletal Me

A Poem by ♥ Ari Skye ♥
"

Stripping down all the lies, facades, everything...

"

Darkened rooms.

Unknown faces.

Open wounds.

Small spaces.

All alone

in a crowd.

A solo performer.

Take a bow.

A desperate need

to please.

A surging drive

to preserve memories.

That's all that is

left of this skeletal me.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
You describe well the veil of anonymity that comes with forums such as these. People, in their small, dark spaces can be whatever they want. We hope they are honest but who really knows. Such challenge to trust opens old wounds we have from past experiences, yet, while we do what we can to avoid the same mistakes, we continue to try and please those who take interest, real or imagined. A good piece Ashley!

Thank you, FT. As always, your liking of my work humbles me...
