Paradoxical Love

Paradoxical Love

A Poem by ♥ Ari Skye ♥
"

Conflicting messages...

"
They say a picture's
worth a thousand words.
I say an action,
is worth a thousand more.
A paradigm for the
love you guarentee.

I don't see these actions.
You refuse to show
them to me.
You want me to believe,
but your actions
are contradictory.

Then again,
no love was ever guarenteed.
It's all a false memory.
Still, the thought of
you loving another
makes me seethe.

They all flirt and tease.
Do you think of me?
Or am I just another conquest?

A paradox of love,
indeed.

Love the opening lines of this poem and agree whole heartedly. The second stanza challenges one to demonstrate such love instead of simply saying it, produce it. Even though you cannot trust the words the simple image of him with another drives you to anger - how our emotions do toy with us. The second last stanza says it all. Good job Ashley!

Thank you FT. It was a bit challenging to write, but I got my point across the way I wanted..
Do you think of me?
Or am I just another conquest?

I often wonder this myself.

Did you love me or were you just using me?

You can tell someone that you love them, but you need to show it in your actions.

I've done things in real life that romantic comedies have never thought of doing.
Those who recognize these gestures in reality however, are very few.

You wish it could happen like it does in the movies.
Yet when it does, oddly it goes unrecognized.
It's sad to see actually.

I don't believe that chivalry is dead. Maybe I'm just a romantic...

Very true. Just be real.
The great Shakespeare said it best: "To thine own self be true..."
This goes well with something I always say - words are a dime a dozen but actions will always speak volumes. in a sense I can relate to this piece, just not in a romantic way. Great piece hun!
