This piece was inspired by my ALL TIME FAVORITE TV Show, The Walking Dead. The character, Rick Grimes, was really who inspired it. Although he's not my fav, Daryl is ♥

When the lights

go out and

the town gets dark.

When the dead

come out to play.

You strap on your gun.

"Don't worry son,

We'll live to fight

another day".

Stench of flesh

in the air.

That's the least

of your cares.

Being strong's the

only way.

Slice of knife.

Squish of guts.

Crunch of bone

beneath your boots.

You dig down deep

to find the strength

in your roots.

Make the choice,

use your voice.

Lead the group

to a safe point.

Never question

the decisions you make.

It's your right

to survive the fight.

When the dead

come out to play.

Wow, I really liked this! I love the Walking Dead (I haven't seen the new episode yet) and this described it really well though!

Yes and No. They way Greg Nicotero directed it was a stroke of pure genius, let's put it that way. It evoked alot of emotions, but we had time to process it. Where compared to Hershell's death, it happened so quick that alot of us were in shock for quite awhile...

Wow. Umm I didn't do anything like that. lol I just cried like alot.. lol the one that killed me the most was when Daryl had to kill Merle. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't feel bad for Merle cause I thought he was a dick, but when Daryl cries.. Oh God, I cry too...

Lol, okay, so maybe I wasn't that violent, but that's how I felt inside. And yeah, I did yell out NO! NO! Over and over again. XD And yes, that was sad. If you noticed on Walking Dead memes or anything Walking Dead for that matter, there is a quote that says when Daryll cries, we all cry... so true O: And lol, there is also a quote that says how Daryll gets the least screen time and is everyone's favorite character... yep, that's true too! Goes Daryll then Rick.

Yes. Daryl has been my fav since the first time I saw him.. He's hot as hell.. lol. I have a big poster of him on my wall.. Rick's also really great, too. The whole freakin show is amazing!
Also if Daryl dies, we riot!! lol

LOL! He actually said that? XD I agree. ANd o. o... I'm still catching up on Season 4, and that episode with the girls... that was really sad, even a little bit more than Hershell dying... she killed her sister, and then Beth.... she shot her.... that made me actually cry, and I don't cry at all, let alone for movies/shows... I'm on the episode called "A" now... nearly finished with it, like 4 min to go. Terminus is a little weird so far. XD

Yes, he actually said that. & It was Carol that shot Lizzie, not Beth. Sorry, I correct everyone on TWD facts. Terminus was very, very weird. But Gareth was pretty, well hot himself.. lol

Lol, sorry, yeah, I messed up the names. Mostly because Carol is a lot like Lorie, and I don't really care much for her. But yes, that was very sad... and lol, don't spill the beans on Terminus! I need to watch the episodes first, then we'll talk. And lol, Ringleader, Bowman, Samurai, in that order. XD

It's ok. It's just a bad habit of mine to correct people. I even correct my mom and dad.. lol Many things I mess up, but I never get a TWD fact wrong.. lol
I agree with you on not liking Lorrie. She was a two timing b***h.. lol How could you be married to someone like Rick and want to screw someone like Shane, lonely or not. Ew. I like Carol, a little, but I'm one of the few against the Daryl/Carol Romance party that seems to be going on. I don't care for any character that becomes a Daryl romance option.. lol
I won't say anymore about Terminus.. Let me know after you get through the episodes!

Lol, yeah, I don't like Daryll in relationships either... and yeah, I don't really like Carol either, and I hated Shane. He's your best friend but ditches you in the hospital in the end of the world in the middle of a zombie apacolypse, tells your wife you're dead, and then bangs her, while trying to be the leader and kill people. Yep, me no likey. And lol, I will. And yeah, especially him calling Daryll Bowman, and Michonne Samurai. That was the most hilarious, Samurai. XD

Me no likely. That's hilarious. I was never so glad when Shane got killed off! Then when Lorrie was gone I was happier. But it was sad how hard Rick took it.. Made me cry actaully.
Yeah if my best friend did that to me, I would of killed him sooner! lol.
Yeah, Gareth is pretty funny. Just wait until you see the third to last episode of the first half of season 5. I think it's that one... Anyways I can't say anymore or I'll give stuff away, but yeah..

I was scared (because it was still early in the show) they were going to kill Rick with zombie Shane. But eh. XD And yeah, as soon as I would've found out he would've either been kicked out or dead in a minute. Lol, yeah, I figured that would throw some people off. I think the only reason people recognized me quicker last time I changed my name (the first time ever) was because I still had Resilient... I'm probably equally as obsessed. Lol. I have been a HUGE fan since day 1. I like Rick, his character really inspired this poem. How you watch his struggles with making decisions and hoping he's doing his best for Carl and Judith. But my fav is Daryl♥. lol. See, I even talk about them as if they were real people! lol. Same for me, since day one! I remember hearing about the show and was like OH MY GOSH, something for me! Horror based, with zombies - awesome. But it's so much more then that, which is what makes it even better!

Exactly! Even though I'm a scaredy cat, I'm obsessed with Zombies. Lol. I'm a major nerd. I actually plan on a zombie apocalypse. Yep, you can laugh, I forgive you. I love it because there are so many elements to the show and the characters are so complex. I wish I could write something as good as Robert Kirkman. He's a genius!

Yes! That's what I love about the show, all the elements and how complex the characters are. It drives me nuts when people complain about character development episodes. Like people, the show isn't just all about the zombies and it's not a freaking action movie! Lol.
