Past

A piece about accepting each other's pasts, regardless, and moving forward together... It was written for my friend, John.

A past.

We both have one,

but mine I want to share.

 

I want you to know

you're not alone.

I want you to know

how much I care.

 

I don't care about your past.

I don't want you

to feel any shame.

I'm so proud of how far you've come.

Proud of everything you've gained.

 

Share with me

your dreams,

your fears,

and I shall do the same.

We'll build our future,

from sharing our past.

With only love to gain.

Wow, this poem really touch my heart
Its like saying: "I accept you just the way you are"
Touching piece, this really got to my hear.
But it is true, we don't have to pay attention to the past, because the past is the past, nothing more, nothing less, what matters is what those people have become for us in the present.

I had a friend named John.. He was 17 and training to go into the Navy. I lost his number and miss him so much. I used to try to tell him not to join because I didn't want him to get hurt. I wish that I was able to tell him now that I was really proud of him. His favorite song was "Demons" by Imagine Dragons. Every time I hear that song, I think of him and my eyes tear up.. He was the one I looked up to. He was my hero..
