The Ballad of a Broken Heart

This is me, trying my hand at song writing, and failing miserably. At least, I think so...

Drops of rain that match my tears.

The tears I've cried for at least a year.

Rolls of thunder that match my heart.

A heart that almost nearly stopped.

I can't sit alone and think of you,

but honestly, what else is there to do?

All my dreams flew out the window,

like the time as you watch it go.

Visions of things I've never seen,

cloud my mind.

I swear I'll never get used to it,

at least not this time.

I see a shattered dream, that I know could have been my own.

At least these things that I have seen,

can teach me to reap what I have sown.

I know I've learned a thing or two along the way,

and today I'm glad that I can say . . .

It still may hurt,

but I'll get through.

At least I know I'm strong enough to get over you.

It make take time, but I'll push through.

I'll be the rock that you never thought I could.

When it's all through,

I'm not gonna miss you.
