Lie In Wait

Lie In Wait

A Poem by ♥ Ari Skye ♥
"

Just a poem that I wrote. Nothing fancy.

"

I can tell you every lie

you want to hear.

Whisper them in

your bleeding ears.

A dark night.

A dull knife.

Sitting at your bedside,

watching you fight to be alive.

A string of lies so sincere.

A conundrum full of tears.

A whisper on the lips,

you readily believe.

A bed of lies you lay on,

a handful of roses you believe.

The poem is actually meant to feel unfinished, because it is based on my journey in the last 7 months.

You see, due to major depression, I overdosed on 90+ pills last June. I'm very lucky to be alive and to even be able to read, let alone write.

I wrote it about my 5 day stay in the hospital, the seizures I had, and how for 2 days I fought for life. All due to the lies I believed from people I thought cared about me.

My journey into what I call, my "new life", is unfinished, so I wanted the poem to reflect that.

I reached the end and it "felt" unfinished.

This poem is really good, it totally reminds me of my ex-wife. Ptl I don't have to deal with that anymore, and thx for your review.
