Roses

Roses

A Poem by Arganova
"

A short piece I wrote, silly and fun.

"
Massive petal bowls full to the brim
Cupped in two hands, trying to hold steady
To not spill the precious load they contain
Perfect grips falter, splash fragrance over faces
Dye smiles onto lips stiff with concentration
Trickle down our arms to form puddles at feet
We went skipping through puddles in the sun
Soaked our socks in luxury we couldn't
Afford on our allowances of pocket change and
Dreams
And then went home for lunch

... oh ... that's just absolutely exquisite and beautifully written ... the instances of alliteration add a sparkle ... the following lines are particularly memorable ...

We went skipping through puddles in the sun
Soaked our socks in luxury we couldn't
