To A Believer in Corporate Kindness

To A Believer in Corporate Kindness

A Poem by Arezzo

Companies lust after profit.
They do nothing -- that is, squat --
if there's a chance of not
making something off it.

You see a soft heart beating.
Try being an executive
whose yields are down and has to live
through a hostile stockholders' meeting.

Capitalism works. It really does.
That's because it's selfish, greedy --
it ruthlessly exploits the needy.
It works because it's us.

"It works because it's us." This struck me deeply. Once more I've been sucked into the style, flow, and intellect behind this. It is with excitement that I search for more.
