My body went numb as I waded to the shadows,
I felt tired as I remembered you,
Into the shallows and all alone,
Like a weird looking cartoon,
The Vital signs slowed.
To forgive one of us,
You’d leave an internal scar,
The blood making clear
Of whom you really are.
And finally your own intentions became clear
You see yourself outside of your life.
You leave your choice,
To another
Hoping that it will go away.
Life continued as normal,
No changes to make,
Another one nighter,
Another mistake,
Another heart broken,
And another’s heart breaks.
One person’s mistake,
Leaves you broken,
Leaves you bleeding,
Leaves you wanting death.
And as you slip you realise,
that your life was a mistake.
So as you meet death in that sour place,
You wish to live free, not die hard
You’re only here for the ride.
You remember your life,
Many years from the day,
As you realise, what a mistake,
What you needed to do,
Lied right in front of your face.
You wished for forgiveness.
For all your mistakes,
For all the lies,
That you had to make.
You left them wanting more,
You left them seeing red,
Wishing for your blood.
They didn’t know,
It was already taken.
