C'est finiA Poem by AreeshaJC'est fini
Drowned in memories, absence of joy, falling in life yet, no hope: c'est fini,
Her black veil stuck, tore by a rock her heart darkened solid as the latter.
What was the purpose? she asked. C'est fini. There was no beginning, but there surely is an end.
She was told he would come back. It had been a decade lied to, mocked at, there had to be an end
Performing solo, the rest: spectators all in all she had joined the rest too
Unappreciated sunshine, unheard birds, weeping waters, she stood still
Not for too long though, one step forward, and another, now she was gone.
Years of breath, moments of laughter, wasted, thrown away in the deep blue
"C'est fini" she had told herself. C'est fini. © 2012 AreeshaJAuthor's Note
