A Last Request

A Poem by Arcus

Please, just once more, my angel.
One more instance to hold dear for all time.
One last moment to cherish as I fade into eternity.

I beg of you...

One more shred of happiness before I am forever lost in your memories;
The same memories that I relive repeatedly in my hopeless insanity
One more kiss upon lips that once muttered sweet words of affection and longing so long ago,
When true love was still an option to those who had reason for it,
And they fought for it no matter the cost.

Let me hold you once more in my arms,
So that I may feel a remnant of a moment lost in time,
Remembered only by those who were triumphant enough to witness it in full bloom

One more tear of ecstasy before misery consumes me completely

This is so beautiful and deep, full of desire, It feels to me as if it is a "Last Supper" of pleasure you may enjoy, before breathing out your last breath. So much raw emotion, and pain but beauty.

There is strength, and no fear, but I feel just trust. The longing is immense, and intense... I felt this one, to the bones, I did. Nice work here...

Hahaha. I am glad that you enjoyed it. :)
There is pain and sadness here, but there is beauty as well...
Let me hold you once more in my arms,
So that I may feel a remnant of a moment lost in time,
Remembered only by those who were triumphant enough to witness it in full bloom
So beautifully soft and romantic...this just touches my heart.

You are a gifted poet. Your poem is exquisite.

Thank you, so very much, friend. Your kind words mean so much to me. :)
Just one more time...we just never know that it's the last. That is the ultimate sadness of it all. A lovely poem filled with fervent longing.
