My Prayer

An actual prayer

Dear Father,

I love you with all my heart. I am not deserving of your love or your mercy as I am a sinner. I fail you everyday that I sin, but I strive to be better. I know that for every door you close you open another for me. Because of you I live. I breath. I help. I teach. I learn. I give. I cherish. I love. I have suffered in my life, but you carried me through it. I have fallen, but you picked me up. I have cursed you, and I have yelled at you, but you calmed me down showing me the light. You healed those wounds and put me straight. You are merciful, caring, and kind as the Father of man. You are unbiased, calculating, and careful as the Judge of man. Protect me as I walk through this life. Show me the way so that I may do your will. Shield me from my enemies as I take your word far and wide. I will be your sword armed with your words. I will be a shield to help those weaker than I. I am yours to command. I am a soldier in Christ. What are my orders, my Lord?
