I am not afraid anymore!

Rise up and face your demons. Do not back down. Do not look back.

I am not afraid anymore.

I will stand and face my demons.

I will cross through that door.

I know it was I who made these demons.

 

I have no more regrets resting on my heart.

I just need to put on foot in front of the other.

I will no longer let my sins hold tight my heart.

I have to leave though it kills my mother.

 

Too long have I walked in the darkness.

Too long have I been a drifting shadow.

Too long has my life been a sinful mess.

Too long have I waited to go.

 

Too long have I held back out of fear.

Too long have I pushed around.

Too long have I shed these tears.

Too long have I been held down.

 

I am breaking out of this hell.

I will rise up as a phoenix from my own ashes.

I will let my actions ring out like a bell.

I am going to weather each other these lashes.

 

I will hold my head high.

I will not bow before my demons again.

I will fight even if I have to die.

In life or death it I will be the one to win.

 

The wind will guide my steps on this path.

The sun will be a beckon for my soul.

The rain will dance as I laugh.

The days are gone that I exist in this hole.

 

Each man is his own master and commander.

Each man is his own captive and jailer.

Each man is his own Hero and Leander.

Each man is his own slave and savior.

 

Rise up and throw off your shackles and chains.

Rise up and seize the day before you.

Rise up and feel the blood coursing in your veins.

Rise up and unleash the beast sealed inside you.

 

Do not ever look back.

Do not stop until you are done.

Do not dwell on what you may lack.

Do not ever stop until you have won!

Nice work, I think in your own way you have captured the issues that we all have faced or will face sometime in our lives. Keep going with things of this nature and you'll find that alot of people relate to your work in someway. Always trust what you think is right about a piece, no matter what anyone else tells you. To Alice- I have to be. I have to many people who look to me. I can not falter. In a relationship I have to carry her if she falls, In my family I have to glue to pieces after a fight, in my line of work... When death is descending on a soldier he will cry out for me and I have to be there for him. When they call for Medic I don't get an option to decline.

Your strength in overcoming is wonderful, but may I suggest you think of a more condensed version of the descriptions? I found your first words of each line a bit repetitive, and think it would be much more effective to condense it....

i.e.
Rise up and throw off your shackles and chains
Seize the day before you.
Feel the blood coursing in your veins.
Unleash the beast sealed inside you.
Yes, rise up!
.....just as a suggestion. This seems to have more impact rather than so much repetition.
Wonderful spirit in your write....just work on the format a bit!
