Knights and Villains

On the vast expanses where ambitions dwell,
Traversing champions make stories to tell,
Expeditions meant to define their morrow,
To unlock the roads that redeem their sorrow,
Be in knightly moral or in vengeful whim,
Destinations set to overcome all grim,
On crossroads of hope where knights and villains meet,
Relatable forces make the means to greet.

Alas, the encounters disregard due grace,
With distinctive norms of distancing ways,
The one's burning desire to chart their course,
Threatens to raze the other's path and do worse,
To earn glorious freedom with strengths of nuance,
At each other's cost giving their very best,
Their innate contrast labelled out in advance,
The real enemy made long before the test.
