Good Old Gone Days

Good Old Gone Days

A Poem by Archishman Rick

The good old gone days
With the carefree games
That had played their mirth in me,
I remember in trace
That returns in spades
Down a journey meant to be.

I would search through the winding woods,
For the wishes that elude,
I would stride far to ask for clues,
Shiny dragon flying through.

From my land to sea,
Tasting sky so free,
I would take my leave,
For sweet make believe.

The good old gone days,
With a dreamer's craze
And endless melodies sung,
With hopes in aimless chase,
Lost yet right in home space
Faded now with what was young.

I would count the hours to the night,
The day slowing going by,
No stifling weight of wrong and right,
Next adventure course to find.

Past the land and sea,
Dancing in history,
Are my beloved times
I greet beyond goodbyes.

As I look to the sky,
My memories know why,
I draw again that smile,
That makes me stay here a while.

This one describes a time of life many of us knew. The facility of make believe that comes with childhood spares us the traumas the adult world is facing at the time. When we grow up we leave that world behind, but sometimes it comes briefly back to us.

Thanks. Yes definitely, and it is a fine world to reminisce. It is always there, just left behind.
