A Union of TrailsA Poem by Archishman Rick
In the stretches between a distant crest and a jungle creek,
A remote site hosting no apparent souls to greet, Set the stage one day for two lone strangers off to seek, Differing knowledge and adventure to unknowingly meet. One out to discover what scapes lay beyond the fresh hills, The other to cross the waters that made the forest split. Fervent travellers as they were, both sensed each other's thrills; Their opposing routes connected by a kindred spirit. Mutual regard born not from whim but esoteric intrigue, Past personal background into the rich backdrop each faced, Despite their slipshod gear and solo strides in midday fatigue, They could clearly acknowledge each other's romantic taste. Fervour refueled and faith revamped by a union of chance, Easing concerns for what lay ahead and what was left behind, One's untrodden path secured by the other's trail in advance, For the dauntless will toward a gallivanter's wealth to find. © 2023 Archishman RickFeatured Review
