Earthly Weaponry

Earthly Weaponry

A Poem by Archishman Rick

Bleak burdens hoped to fade,
Away from a heavy heart,
With a fiery beat's aid,
Who wants to jump a fresh start.

Wretched woes longed to fade,
Away from a melting mind,
In cool clarity's shade,
A poise who wishes to find.

Yet their frequent visits are rife,
Letting you not embrace the new,
Spirit sapped by the ceaseless strife,
Ways to survive running few.

Peace that managed to find its way,
In the clutter just could not stay,
With the inherent suffering,
That bridges thinking and feeling.

Yet for you to find laid in grace,
Are benign earthly weaponry,
Discipline to secure your place,
And sacrifice to set you free.
