Deep WildsA Poem by Archishman Rick
On my lone ventures to the cryptic depths,
Of ghastly woods, ghoulish caves and dead ends, The shadows swept far as I walked tall, I watched if slivers of light could fall, Through crippling clutches I let ensnare, The prospect of sunk in liberation, In this harsh abyss is worth the dare. I turn to face the perplexing pits, Seemingly too much for worn out wits, Perhaps these uncertain parts are where, The ancient lady of the night sits. Embracing the dark with gruesome grace, She leaves no opening in the maze. But through the phantasm I see ways, On which blood is sapped but flows like art, Within deep wilds where I spend these days, The place where I found my lion-heart. © 2022 Archishman RickFeatured Review
