Shanties and Shrines

Shanties and Shrines

A Poem by Archishman Rick

Built on the soil of ties and time,
Were those sober shanties and shrines,
Wafting echoes of hymn and rhyme,
Resound still over lasting shine.

Fault and faith met to intertwine,
Where the dusk heard chatter and chimes,
Racing thoughts managed to align,
Crude valuables worth every dime.

To liberate from loss and crime,
To serve home stand shanties and shrines,
A rest stop for rovers to dine,
Fruitless ventures they redefine.
