Shanties and Shrines

Shanties and Shrines

A Poem by Archishman Rick

Built on the soil of ties and time,
Were those sober shanties and shrines,
Wafting echoes of hymn and rhyme,
Still resound over lasting shine.

Where fault and faith would intertwine,
And the dusk would hear chatter and chimes,
Scattered thoughts managed to align,
Crude valuables worth every dime.

To free from misery and crime,
As home still stand shanties and shrines,
A safe space for rovers to dine,
Hopeless journeys they redefine.
