Gem Fall

Gem Fall

A Poem by Archishman Rick

A sparkling gem once took a fall,
Down where shadow lurks in gloom,
There deep within it gave its all,
To spread its glow through the room.

Bearing the weight of worth inside,
Resting below its smooth sheen,
What unseen blemish could it hide,
With wholesome lustre so clean.

A handsome piece of brilliant flair,
On which they pushed all their trust,
While too dazzled to be aware,
That it could catch dirt and dust.

It sits still sharp at the edges,
As if a cliff watching over,
A dark deep sea vast in stretches.
It stands out where stray stones scatter.
