Sins of Youthful Love Pt 7A Chapter by Tsukin ArchangelBetrothed- The Sins of Youthful Love Part 7 Cairan struggled in the Dark King's
grasp. "Put me down! What the hell do you want from me?!" Thyme continued to slosh through the
guck of the sewers, chuckling lightly. "Why the heck am I still alive
anyway? Huh? Don't you want me dead? Don't you want to make sure no one will
question your authority in Geata Ifreann?!" Thyme laughed again, a dark throaty
sound. "Don't tempt me boy." Cairan closed his mouth with a sour
frown. Thyme continued, “and to answer your questions; there will always be
people to resist command, eventually I will fall, but that, my dear Cairan,
will not happen for a very long time." He paused before continuing.
"See, you're more use to me alive than dead. I can use you as a bargaining
chip to your people who seem to love you dearly and for the royals of
Verlorene." Cairan stiffened. "W-what do
you mean?" "Don't try and hide it from me,
boy. I have already spoken the Sea Prince's brother, Dios. I know all about
your relationship with him. Don't you think he'd do anything to keep you
alive?" Cairan gulped but tried to keep his
voice steady. He couldn't believe his brother had ratted him out. "Shep,
he-he'll stop you." "You don't sound very
convinced." "I'd rather him alive then
dead." "Are you that scared of
me?" There was a short pause before
Cairan answered. "Yes. I saw what you did to my family. I know how much of
a monster you are." Thyme gave a dark laugh in return. A
light filtered in from above not too far from where they were standing and
Cairan found himself standing underneath the clamor of another troop of armed
forces. Thyme heaved Cairan out of the sewer and onto the ground roughly. "Epona, ready the steads, we
move out now." Thyme strode forward confidently. A blonde, handsome face poked out of
the wagon and responded quicky, "Yes father." Cairan scanned the area
and his eyes landed on Dios. The red haired prince glanced to the side with
feigned nonchalance under Cairan’s daggered stare. "Come along boy," Thyme
told him with a sharp jab to his spine. "You," He pointed to Dios,
"Get in too." They all loaded into the caravan and
Cairan had his wrists and feet bound. The carriage lurched forward and they
began moving forward away from Verlorene. They moved steadily towards a place
that Cairan was all too familiar with. A place that he had, not too long ago,
regarded as home. Geata Ifreann. -Betrothed- Shep stood breathlessly in the
clearing. "D****T!" He screamed,
throwing his rapier to the ground, and punching a tree with all his might. He
was too late. Cairan was gone. Probably killed and strung up like a trophy to
be toted back to Geata Ifreann, to wave as a trophy to encourage the masses to
panic. He knew they had been here and that he had failed to save Cairan. The sea prince felt
his throat tighten with the familiar sensation of sorrow and he sunk to the
ground, with dry sobs wracking his body. This can’t be happening, Shep thought.
This couldn’t be how it ended. Alone and forced to marry a woman he had no
feelings for. He dug the tip of Kabbelung into
the loose soil beside him. He didn’t lift his head, even to acknowledge
Berrick’s heavy and foreboding presence behind him. His heart had finally broken. The curse had finally taken its hold
on him. He had fallen into Despair. -Betrothed- The Sins of Youthful Love ~End~ © 2014 Tsukin ArchangelAuthor's Note
