The House

My Entry for the weekly PROMPT Challenge...done in like...two minutes lol...decided on a darker theme for this one...HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY!!!

The house. 

It was supposed to be perfect. 

Supposed to be the building of my dreams. Supposed to make me the hottest thing in town. This roman styled villa with its Corinthian columns and open aired pavilions. This aged building with its pools and roses. It was supposed to make my life complete.

But no.

In this heaven was a bloody history.

A lie.

A trick. A sham. A lost cause.

I had fallen prey to mans greatest folly.

Greed.

And allowed my own Sword of Damocles to fall.

It's nice how you first placed the reader in a state of "whuuuuuut? sounds like a pretty awesome house lol". It's the power of the word "supposed" and you have placed that power into a nice output.

Simply getting to the point is effective as well as you don't spin the reader around in confusion which is a usual sickness in writers.

So overall I like this piece and its a great one.
