My Secret Ambition

A poem I submitted in my school's writing competition and I got 1st place.

 

My Secret Ambition(Verse/Poem)

 

 

 

I have a secret ambition

That I’m not interested to let anyone know.

Being a mastermind criminal

Is what I intend to be when I grow up.

Robberies are illegal,

Crimes are sinful,

But what I plan to commit

Are for heaven’s sake.

 

Money and jewellery stolen

Will be converted to cash,

And I ensure myself

I will contribute them equally to the poor.

You may wonder

I am just a terrible kid,

With dozens of lies and excuses

Just to cover my evil intentions.

I do not care what others may think,

For me I know I’m dedicated to justice.

 

Day after day,

I sit in front of my custom-built super-computer.

Breaking classified codes and passwords

As easy as Bill Gates inventing softwares.

And I will hack into complex networks and programmes,

Just like having a snack.

 

Night after night,

I equip myself with high-tech gadgets.

Stealing priceless jewellery and paintings

As easy as Da Vinci making his drafts.

And I will rob ruthless multibillionaires,

Just like having a nap.

 

For my ingenious schemes,

I shall have a nimble and muscular assistant,

Just like every hero has his sidekick.

God send us here,

We are the Salvation Army,

Saving the poor is our destiny,

Rich but immoral mortals shall be our enemies.

 

The well-known Interpol and other local police

Are so-called embodiments of justice.

They are always after us,

Although they know they will never succeed.

Together with my partner,

We will be unstoppable.

Immoral billionaires should beware,

For we are coming after your ill-gotten fortune

Without having a chance for you to stare.

 

I will never alter my fealty towards justice

And I’ll accept redemption

From those who repent with apologies.

I will never swear allegiance to injustice

And I’ll bring damnation

To those who truly deserve it.

 

I am a common civilian,

Living an extraordinary life.

I am a mastermind criminal ,

Using intelligence as my asset to commit crimes.

I am also a modern-day Robin Hood,

Unike any other depraved and evil-minded thieves.

A classic robin hood scenario with a modern day twist. I like all the references to today's peoples like "As easy as Bill Gates inventing softwares". Great line. What i really did like is the way you can feel the determination of the character in the words spoken throughout. A good read, A good write. Excellent job!!

It is a wonderful poem no doubt. I enjoyed it all through. It just like these dreams that some kid may have. Are they however prone to realisation? Only time can tell. It is an excellent poem. Well done.
