Ecstasy

Ecstasy

A Poem by Emma Raether
"

A dark and depressing sort of poem, inspired by severe depression and Evanescence's Lithium. Just because it's an angst doesn't mean it's bad, read and see for yourself :P

"

Ecstasy.
Doing what causes pleasure
Endless without measure

Ecstasy.
Why didn’t anyone tell me
Of the consequences
Could it be so wrong?

Ecstasy.
Bring on the smoking mirrors
What have I to fear but

Ecstasy.
Make me disappear
No one in the audience will notice
Blind as bats
Behind their masks
Just another magician’s trick…
Ecstasy.

It will not be my fall
It will be from you all
Blind by choice
Gouged out eyes
Laced up lies
Ecstasy.

Hear the siren sing
The windows close
They don’t want to see
How wrong they were
They don’t know
How it feels
To be so low in the ground.
Ecstasy.
