The Monster

The Monster

A Poem by Emma Raether
"

It is based off of my experiences with theman I once called my father. It was written whe ni was most afraid, when he took my sister away. Note that many(if not all) of my poems are personal, and I put so much emotion into them.

"

Help me help me
Nowhere is safe

The monster has come out
From under the bed
I always knew it was there
An undiscovered part of my space

Claws reach out
to grab hold of me
See the victims
Being taken away
All it wants is me

I will not sacrifice
They need my hope
They need someone to fill the emptiness
Inside...

Wherever I go
I remain haunted
Visions of fear
Dancing through my head

Leave me alone;
I don't want to be with you anymore
Leave me alone
Don't you see that
I'm supposed to be invisible?

Feel my fear
Watch me tremble
Fear is only in the mind
Or so they say
Taking over all the time...
But will it ever end?
