An Observer

An Observer

A Poem by arcandon

A snowfledger docks

crates from an icy court

from many places many ways

requests for a sender have not returned

slowly caught on her web

where she’ll be cuffed in ice forever

(forever’s such a long wait)

sunlight broods over all of this

one sweet golden cake

and wants to

reaches her with love

(and love’s warmer globe)

full life’s work in a mitted paw

homes a bottle of frozen ginger beer

older than each parcel

to shiver in years

midnight parking

and stalling at the depot

another ticket on her tongue dissolves

paw

holds her fur in tight

seems she can’t find love until she’s better

from lesions of arching

estrange feeling

a ruptured calm.
