The Dissonance Between Us

The Dissonance Between Us

A Poem by arcandon

Letting in Dr. Sunshine seemed better than a light

walking away like a crab on the beach

in public, where i turn white

learned quickly the melting of the melting pot

it was going to be alright

rescuing that sharp toy from behind your sad old coffin

   looking couch

hiding from the shouting but I never saw a voice shouting

      once

then it was over very fast

like a long way back

  or a wrong choice

soggy it was daytime

where was Dr. Sunshine where could he be?

 out patrolling other patients

protecting them from their own infection

 sometimes you just can't wait

the rhythm of your heart when you listen very close

 i can be found

picking lemons growing out there near the house

spoiled somewhere behind the couch me and another boy

crying again at the movies i watch over and over and over and over

 sometimes alone

 you ask why

but i just don't know

 and why would i
