Don't you ever wonder

Don't you ever wonder

A Poem by Rose
"

This is from my senior year in high school...

"

(This is originally a song by Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls, and I just took the lyrics and tweaked some of them to fit my life.  Go listen to "End of an Era.")

Don’t you ever wonder what
Will happen when it ends?
How can we let go of all
The ones who we call friends?
And I know we’ll always find others, but
From these we’ve had so much to gain.
They’re the ones who got us through it all
And tried to make sure we stayed sane.

I will miss my best friend’s grin,
And sticking through thick and thin
And though it wasn’t fun right then,
I’ll keep on smiling
When I think of them again.

Could there ever be again
Another time like this?
One that brought us together and
Bridged over all that was amiss.

Soon we will see it close,
The final chapters exposed.
It’s the end of an era,
And I’m seeing clearer that
Nothing will ever be the same.

So, don’t you ever wonder what
Will happen when it ends?

Such an insight into life. The treasures of your past will always remain there for you. The access might not be easier but the ownership of thoughts dreams and memories won't erase. I am sure you counted your blessing because you penned such a beautiful piece. Thanks for creating and sharing. I am off to read some more of your work.

A outstanding poem. You left many unanswered questions. Life is a million choice journey. Ending is the Will of the heart and mind.

You seem to be recognizing the good times as they happen--and that's good, very good. It's been over forty years since I left high school, but I still see a few of my old classmates from time to time. Do we have the same relationships now that we had back then? Nah, of course not, but we still enjoy talking about it. Good introspection from your young mind, Rose.

You are right: "Nothing will ever be the same.", it never is, not even the moment that pass right now as i'm writing here! It is kind of sad if we think about good things and it is a relieve if we think about the bad ones... so, like everything, eternally changing! ~ lovely poem!
